dijo+ privacy notice

Equilearn (Pty) Ltd | dijo+ | Consolidated edition: 18 October 2026 · version privacy-notice-v1

1. Who we are

Equilearn (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2023/802533/07), Vorna Valley, Midrand, South Africa operates dijo+ and is responsible for personal information processed for its own platform purposes. Privacy enquiries and requests: support@dijoplus.co.za. Information officer: Siyabulela Ralawe.

2. Personal information and why we use it

We process account details (name, email and authentication), business profile information, sales/costs/stock/orders and other trading records, optional customer records entered by traders, learning activity and diagnostic answers, funding application material, and security/usage events to provide the requested app features, operate the account, recommend relevant learning and support the trader. Where a programme is joined, we process cohort membership and progress indicators for delivery, monitoring and programme support. Specific credit/legal details for funding are collected only through the separate application flow described below.

dijo+ is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information about children. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete the information it holds, subject to the retention rules in this notice.

3. How traders reach sponsored programmes

The sponsoring bank or other sponsor contacts and invites prospective traders using its own lawful communication channels. The sponsor provides applicants with an Equilearn/dijo+ application link. Equilearn does not need or receive a pre-application contact list to send invitations or reminders under this model. When an applicant opens the link and supplies information to Equilearn, we explain how that information will be processed. The sponsor is independently responsible for the lawfulness of its invitation messages and its collection/use of pre-existing contact details. If a future programme needs sponsor-to-Equilearn lead transfers, this will require a separate assessment, notice and documented agreement before launch.

4. Accounts, communications and funding

Operational security and account notices may be sent when necessary for the service. Daily reminders and weekly summaries are optional, with a separate unselected Yes/No choice and a Profile opt-out. Marketing communications, if introduced, require separate lawful processing and communications controls. For a particular funding application we request an additional affirmative decision before recording credit report information, loans, judgments or other legal information; withdrawal stops further collection subject to any lawful retention obligations.

5. Programme sharing and sponsor reporting

To participate in the sponsored programme, you need to allow Equilearn to share the progress information described below with the named sponsor. You can choose not to join and still use dijo+ independently. You can also stop sharing later, but doing so will end your sponsored programme membership. The join screen names the sponsor and displays the full categories below before the trader chooses Join and share or Do not join.

Your name and business name.

Date you joined and membership status (active, at risk of dropping off, dropped off, or left).

Last activity and days you used dijo+ in the last 7 and 30 days.

Days with sales logged this week, day closes this week and day-close streak.

Which tools you used and how often (counts, not transaction amounts).

Lessons started/completed, courses completed and earlier lessons applied.

Whether and when you completed health and funding checks, and whether business setup is complete.

Percentage change in weekly sales since joining (no rand sales amount).

The sponsor does NOT receive profit, rand values of sales or costs, individual transactions, customer identities/contact details, uploaded documents, or the trader’s email address or phone number through the progress dashboard. Percentage sales growth remains information about an identifiable trader and is treated as personal information.

Only authorised sponsor users assigned to the relevant cohort may see an enrolled trader’s agreed summary. Reporting begins only after a recorded affirmative join action, not merely after opening the application link. Where sharing is withdrawn, Equilearn ends programme membership and revokes identifiable sponsor access without deleting the independent account. Any historic copies held lawfully by the sponsor are managed under its agreement, subject to applicable retention obligations; we do not promise to erase information from all historic records immediately.

Equilearn staff administering support and the cohort may need access to contact details, account activity and appropriate trading information (including weekly profit where necessary to support the trader), under role-based access and confidentiality controls. These additional staff fields are not included in the sponsor summary.

6. Facilitator course recommendations

For programme participants, authorised Equilearn facilitators may add or remove a suggested learning course. They choose a structured reason from an approved list and may add a short explanatory note. The note, after validation and any required review, may be shown to the trader. Equilearn keeps an internal record of the author, date, reason and subsequent amendments. Facilitators must not record irrelevant health details, unsupported allegations, insulting statements or other unnecessary sensitive material. Sponsors do not see facilitator notes or individual recommendations through their dashboard.

7. Service providers and international transfers

We use Supabase for the database and sign-in (configured in Frankfurt, Germany), Vercel to host the app (application functions reported as configured for Frankfurt, fra1; its global network and other services may process request information in other locations), and Loops for email delivery (United States). We maintain contractual, security and international-transfer safeguards for service providers as required by law. Ask support@dijoplus.co.za for more information about processing locations.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide your account and meet applicable legal obligations. When you request account deletion, we lock the account immediately and allow seven days to cancel. Active records are then scheduled for deletion, subject to lawful retention requirements. Routine backups and security records may remain for a limited further period under our service providers’ retention schedules. Our database is backed up daily and each backup is kept for 7 days; there is no point-in-time restore, so deleted information can remain in a backup for up to 7 days after deletion. You can ask support@dijoplus.co.za about the applicable periods.

We keep a minimal record that you accepted our terms and privacy notice (the version and the date) for the life of your account and for three years after it is deleted.

9. Your rights and security

You may request access, correction, deletion when applicable, and information about processing, and may object or withdraw consent in applicable circumstances by contacting support@dijoplus.co.za. Profile settings control optional reminders and programme sharing. We use access restrictions, authentication, encrypted transport and staff controls, subject to verification. You can complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator.

10. Notice updates

We will present material notice changes in dijo+ before a new processing activity is implemented and obtain a new affirmative choice when required.

Your customers’ details — how we handle them

If you save a customer’s name, phone number, order or debt, you normally decide why to collect those details. You are generally the responsible party for those details under POPIA. Equilearn acts as your operator by storing and processing them to provide dijo+. Equilearn is separately responsible for information it uses for its own accounts and service operations.

We do not show traders’ customers’ details to programme sponsors or use them for Equilearn marketing. Customer information is protected through access controls; authorised Equilearn administrators may access it when necessary for security, support or lawful service operations.

You can edit a customer. The Delete Customer feature removes their name, phone number and notes from the customer card while keeping money totals. A name entered separately in an order title or notes may remain; please contact support@dijoplus.co.za for help with those details.

You may ask support@dijoplus.co.za for a copy of information about your customers or for help with an access, correction or deletion request. Some self-service export features are not yet available; we can help process a request.

Please avoid putting ID numbers, banking credentials, health details and other unnecessary private information in customer notes, order descriptions or expense descriptions. We are adding warnings and checks in the app.

The Customer Information Processing Schedule in our Terms explains our promises when we handle your customers’ data on your behalf.
