dijo+ terms of use

Equilearn (Pty) Ltd | dijo+ | Consolidated edition: 18 October 2026 · version terms-v1 · Schedule A — how we handle your customers’ information

1. Who you agree with

These terms are between you and Equilearn (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2023/802533/07), Vorna Valley, Midrand, South Africa, operator of dijo+. Email support@dijoplus.co.za.

2. The service

dijo+ helps food businesses record trading activity, review estimates of income, costs and profit, learn through lessons, and prepare funding information. Outputs depend on the information recorded and are not a guarantee of accuracy, funding or business outcomes and do not substitute for tailored financial, tax or legal advice.

3. Account obligations

Provide accurate account details, protect your login, and use the service lawfully. You must be 18 or older to create a dijo+ account.

4. Your records and your customers

If you record a customer’s name, phone number, order or money owed, use it only for a proper business reason and tell the customer why you keep it. Do not put ID numbers, bank account details, health information or other unnecessary private details in notes. You can edit or ask to correct customer information. Customer deletion and exports are being improved; see the privacy notice. The Customer Information Processing Schedule at the end of these terms forms part of our agreement with you.

5. Fair use

Do not attempt unauthorised access, abuse other users, interfere with the service or upload content unlawfully. We may take proportionate measures to prevent abuse.

6. Sponsored programmes

To participate in the sponsored programme, you need to allow Equilearn to share the progress information described below with the named sponsor. You can choose not to join and still use dijo+ independently. You can also stop sharing later, but doing so will end your sponsored programme membership. The sponsor, report fields, exclusions and withdrawal process are set out in the privacy notice and the programme join screen. We will not treat visiting a link or opening an application as agreement to share progress. A separate affirmative Join and share action is required.

7. Learning recommendations

If you participate in a programme, Equilearn facilitators may add or remove recommended courses for learning-support reasons. Structured reasons and optional screened explanation may appear to you; we keep an audit record and offer a channel to challenge inaccurate statements. These recommendations do not determine your eligibility for credit or other third-party decisions.

8. Changes and availability

We may update features and these terms on reasonable notice. We aim for reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Material contractual changes will be communicated before they apply, and any required fresh acceptance will be requested.

9. Closing your account

You can request account deletion in Profile. The account is locked at once, with seven days in which to cancel, and deleted from active systems thereafter subject to the privacy notice’s verified retention exceptions. We may suspend accounts for material breach, subject to applicable law and appropriate notice.

10. Your business decisions and our responsibility

10.1 What dijo+ helps you do

dijo+ helps you record sales, costs, money owed and other business information. It uses this information to calculate estimates and suggest ways to improve your business.

We take reasonable care in providing these tools, but we cannot promise that every estimate will be correct or that your business will make a profit.

10.2 Check the information you enter

The results shown by dijo+ depend partly on the information you enter.

If you enter an incorrect price, cost, quantity or sales amount, the calculations may also be incorrect.

You should check important figures against your own business records before making decisions.

Equilearn is not responsible for a loss caused solely by incorrect information you entered, where Equilearn has not itself failed to meet a legal or contractual obligation.

10.3 Business and funding decisions

You decide how to run your business, including what prices to charge, what products to sell and whether to apply for funding.

dijo+ provides information and learning tools. It does not replace professional accounting, tax, financial or legal advice.

We do not guarantee that following a recommendation will increase your sales or profits, or that a bank or another funder will approve your application.

10.4 Our responsibilities

Equilearn will use reasonable care and skill when providing dijo+.

We will take reasonable steps to keep the service secure, protect personal information and address technical problems within our control.

If we fail to meet a legal or contractual obligation, you may have a right to a remedy under applicable law.

10.5 Limits on certain losses

To the extent permitted by South African law, Equilearn is not responsible for losses that are too remote from a failure by Equilearn to meet its legal or contractual obligations.

Equilearn is also not responsible for losses caused solely by:

Inaccurate information you entered into dijo+, where Equilearn was not at fault;

Business decisions you made independently of any failure by Equilearn; or

A funding decision made independently by a bank or other funder, where Equilearn did not contribute to the loss through a legal or contractual breach.

These limitations do not excuse Equilearn from responsibility for its own negligence, breach of contract or other unlawful conduct where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10.6 Your legal rights remain protected

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits:

Your rights and remedies under the Consumer Protection Act, where it applies;

Your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act;

Liability for fraud, gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing; or

Any other responsibility that South African law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

10.7 If something goes wrong

If you believe a problem with dijo+ has caused you loss, email support@dijoplus.co.za and explain what happened.

We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time.

You may also exercise any right to complain to a regulator or seek a remedy under South African law.

11. Law and contact

South African law governs these terms, subject to any mandatory consumer rights. Contact: support@dijoplus.co.za.

Schedule A — How we handle your customers’ information (part of these Terms)

This schedule applies when you put your own customers’ details into dijo+. For example, you may save a customer’s name and phone number to manage an order or money owed.

1. Who is responsible

You generally decide why to collect your customers’ details and are responsible for that decision under POPIA. Equilearn processes those details to run dijo+ for you. In POPIA this makes you the “responsible party” and Equilearn your “operator” for that customer information. Equilearn remains responsible for the personal information it uses for its own account and platform purposes.

2. What we may do with it

We use customer information only as needed to run, maintain, secure and support dijo+ on your instructions, or where the law requires. We do not use your customers’ information for our own marketing and we do not share it with programme sponsors.

3. What you must do

Only record customer details for a lawful and sensible business reason, explain to customers why you keep them, and keep the details relevant and accurate. Do not use order records as permission for unrelated marketing.

4. Keeping it safe

We will take appropriate, reasonable steps to protect customer details. Our authorised staff must keep this information confidential and use it only where their work requires it.

5. Our service providers

We may use hosting and other service providers to run dijo+. We will keep a list of relevant providers, put appropriate agreements in place and address legal rules for processing outside South Africa. The relevant providers and locations are described in our privacy notice.

6. If something goes wrong

If we have reasonable grounds to believe an unauthorised person has accessed or obtained customer information, we will tell the affected trader immediately in accordance with POPIA section 21(2), with the information reasonably available to help assess and respond to the incident.

7. Helping with customer requests

We will reasonably help you respond when one of your customers asks to see, correct or delete their information. Some export and deletion tools are being improved; until then contact support@dijoplus.co.za for assistance.

8. When an account closes

We will delete or return customer information under our published retention arrangements, subject to lawful recordkeeping and documented backups. Live-account deletion follows the seven-day cancellation period. Historical order descriptions may currently still identify customers after deleting their contact card; this is an outstanding fix and not a promise of complete deletion.

9. Your rights

Nothing in this schedule removes any right or duty under POPIA or another South African law that cannot legally be removed.
